Bay a Big Hit in Red Sox Debut
One day after being traded to the Red Sox as part of a three team deal involving Manny Ramirez, Jason Bay has already made an impact. Bay tripled to left-center field in the bottom of the 12th inning and eventually scored the game winning run on an infield hit by rookie Jed Lowrie. Bay scored both of the Red Sox runs and made a spectacular catch in left field to help the sox to a 2-1 victory over the Oakland Athletics.
Futures at Fenway
The annual Futures at Fenway double header will be played at Fenway Park on Saturday, August 9th. The first game of the single admission double header will begin at 12:05 PM with Lowell Spinners vs. Hudson Valley Renegades. Game two will feature the Pawtucket Red Sox against the Charlotte Knights. This year marks the third consecutive season that the Red Sox minor league affiliates have taken the field at Fenway Park.
